Beyond Flood Exits New Business in Florida: What It Means for You
As of May 13, 2025, Beyond Flood, a private flood insurance product underwritten by National General (an Allstate company), is no longer available for new business in Florida. This change reflects the continued evolution of the flood insurance landscape in Florida and underscores the importance of having flexible, reliable alternatives for your clients.
What’s Changing?
No New Business in Florida: Agents can no longer write new Beyond Flood policies in Florida.
Existing Policies Continue: Current policyholders are not impacted. You can still process endorsements and renewals as usual.
Previously Quoted Business: If you obtained a quote before May 13, 2025, and it involves a mortgage closing, it can still be bound—if the quote is less than 30 days old. Just submit a support ticket to underwriting for review and binding approval.
What Are Your Options Now?
While Beyond Flood has exited the new business market in Florida, there are still strong flood coverage options available:
NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program): The Write Your Own (WYO) program remains a stable and widely available option for Florida homeowners and buyers.
Obtain quotes with other Private Flood Options: We work with many other private flood carriers and they continue to offer competitive private flood insurance. If you’re not sure what’s available, reach out—we can help you navigate the market.
Doing Business in Other States?
Yes, Beyond Flood is still available in other states. We might be able to help with this as well!

This change is another reminder of the dynamic nature of the Florida insurance market. As an agency committed to staying ahead of industry shifts, we’re already working with multiple flood carriers to ensure seamless alternatives to protecting your home.
